Paolo and Puccio Zacchera began cultivating azaleas in 1977 and founded the COMPAGNIA DEL LAGO nursery garden in 1995.

Over the past 10 years the nursery’s main goal has been to achieve recognition for the quality of its plants and for the reliability and precision with which clients are served: ongoing success would seem to confirm that this goal has been amply realized!

About us:

- the gardens, of which we are very proud, are situated within a number of adjoining Communes in the area and have grown in size from 7 hectares initially to 30
- over the years the number of varieties and species that we cultivate has increased significantly
- our need for labour has grown year after year and during the peak season we now have more than 30 people working for us
- our network of clients is also constantly on the rise: today our plants are sold throughout Italy, Germany and Switzerland and are shipped to satisfied customers in almost every other European country as well.
- in 2001 we began the construction of our new headquarters, located 10 kilometres from the original site where we will eventually concentrate our production of smaller container-grown plants.

Camellias and Azaleas constitute 60% of our production and we continue to invest in their cultivation. We also expect excellent results over the next few years from our maples, kalmies, magnolias and osmanthus as well as from the flowering scented shrubs in our production.

Special attention has been given to those varieties, which not only boast magnificent blooms but are also scented: not surprisingly it was traditional for gardeners in the past to always leave space for scented flowering shrubs.
